Methodology

The calculator uses a target population of 500 000 plants/acre at 7-inch row spacing with 15 000 seeds per pound. Seeds needed = (Population / Germination rate) × Acres, then converted to pounds and 50-lb bags. Planting depth for cover crops is 0.5-1.5 inches.
